Frequently Asked Questions

How do you match pets with caregivers?

We carefully evaluate each pet's personality, age, and specific needs. Our initial consultation includes a meet-and-greet where your pet meets their primary caregiver. We believe the right match between pet and handler is crucial for trust and consistency. Most pets have a dedicated primary handler, with backup caregivers trained on their preferences.

How much do services cost?

Pricing varies based on service type, duration, and your location. Daily 30-minute walks start at $18, while longer sessions and specialized services are priced accordingly. Boarding rates are competitive and include meals and care. We offer package discounts for recurring services and new customer specials. Contact us for a personalized quote.

Are your caregivers insured and background checked?

Yes, absolutely. Every member of the Tailtread team is fully background checked, insured, and bonded. We maintain comprehensive liability coverage and workers' compensation. All caregivers are trained in pet first aid and CPR, and many hold additional certifications in pet behavior and training.

What happens if my pet gets sick or injured?

Your pet's health and safety is our top priority. In the case of illness or injury, we'll immediately contact you at the phone number(s) you provide. We have agreements with local emergency veterinary clinics and will transport your pet if needed. All pets receive a thorough health evaluation during our initial consultation.

How do I know what my pet is doing while I'm away?

We provide daily photo and text updates for all clients. Most of our walks and sitting sessions include 3-5 photos showing your pet having fun. Our tracking system also records walk routes and duration. You're always just a message away from an update about how your furry friend is doing.
